  • Day 1 : Christchurch

  • Day 2 : Auckland- Greymouth

    Today you will travel by train to Greymouth,

    Enjoy the views of the wild west coast as you travel to Greymouth and join the TranzAlpine Train for your scenic train journey to Christchurch. Climb through lush beech forests past the beautiful Lake Brunner and through the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass situated 737 metres above sea level, before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps.

    The TranzAlpine then winds its way over massive viaducts, through spectacular river gorges and the stunning Waimakariri River valley.

  • Day 3 : Greymouth - Franz Josef

    Your journey continues nouth along the West Coast and you pass the town of Hokitika, known for its greenstone (pounamu).

    Your final destination is Franz Josef which is known for being home to one of the world’s most accessible glaciers

  • Day 6 : Franz Josef - Queenstown

    Today your destination wil be Queenstown !

    Queenstown offers something for everyone – you can enjoy the quiet beauty and tranquility of this mountain retreat and enjoy several walking trails in the town area.

    For sheer excitement there is white-water rafting, helicopter rides, the famous jet boats, bungy jumping to pump your adrenalin, and offroad 4WD tours with plenty of river crossings. There are cruises on the lake and a visit to a high country sheep station, or wine tasting tours.

  • Day 9 : Queenstown- Doubtful Sound

    Today you will depart Queenstown for your overnight cruise in the Doubtful Sound.

    You will be picked up from your Queenstown accommodation, and the next day you will be dropped off at your accommodation again.

  • Day 10 : Doubtful Sound - Queenstown

    You will arrive back in Queenstown at around 3.30pm.

    The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

  • Day 11 : Queenstown - Wanaka

    A short journey takes you to Wanaka today. Wanaka town is nestled below towering mountains, and is a little bit quieter than its neighbour Queenstown. In winters skiers from all over the world flock here for its great skiing, and in summer the impressive mountains provide for a range of adventure activities.

    Explore the town of Wanaka at your leisure today.

  • Day 13 : Wanaka - Mount Cook

    Today, travel through the rugged and beautiful landscape of Otago. Cross the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country to arrive at Mt Cook National Park a World Heritage listed site. Mt Cook is Australasia’s highest mountain at 3764 metres. The park covers over 70,000 hectares of breathtaking alpine scenery and is also home to the Tasman Glacier, the longest in the Southern hemisphere.

    The afternoon is free to explore the area and take one of the many short walks starting from Mt Cook Village.

  • Day 14 : Mount Cook - Christchurch

    This afternoon you’ll travel down the Tasman Valley past Glentanner Park as well as Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo where you can view the Church of the Good Shepherd by the lake shore.

    The altar window offers awe inspiring views of the lake and mountains of the Mackenzie Country. The coach then continues on towards Fairlie. Journey through diverse farmland and descend to cross the Canterbury Plains before arriving in Christchurch, the South Island’s largest city.

  • Day 15 : Christchurch - Kaikoura

    Early this morning you will board your coach heading north towards Kaikōura, where few places in the world can boast of such natural wonders. Take time to experience giant whales, playful dolphins, and marine birds up close.

  • Day 16 : Kaikoura - Nelson

    This morning board your coach for your journey north, passing world-class wine producing vineyards in the Marlborough region and into sunny Nelson. Nelson’s diverse geography captures everything from long beaches to untouched forests and jagged mountains.

  • Day 18 : Nelson - Punakaiki

    You will be heading south through Murchison, making your way to the West Coast today. The Murchison Skyline Walkway zigzags through mixed beech and podocarp forest, native ferns, and bracken and broom-covered slopes on the outskirts of Murchison .

    At Hawks Crag the road has been hacked out of solid rock – be ready for the dramatic overhang, lending shade and character to the route. The road to Punakaiki hugs the coast, providing spectacular views of wild beaches and the tempestuous Tasman Sea.

    Today you are going to Christchurch, where you will spend your last night of this tour.
